Hello Dawson and Families Students!
I am the VERY PROUD principal of Mollie Dawson Elementary School! I was born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico, where I started my teaching career in the private sector. My career as a bilingual teacher started in AISD, 29 years ago. AISD is also where I became a principal for the first time 10 years ago. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity of working in different capacities including as a bilingual educator, curriculum translator and developer or Spanish materials, administrative supervisor for area superintendents, assistant principal and principal.
The University of Texas at Austin is where I earned my master’s in arts and PhD Degrees in curriculum and instruction with emphasis in bilingual education. Hook’em!! I have two children who attended AISD public schools. They graduated from McCallum High School and absolutely loved their experience there! As parents, my husband and I can say without a doubt that our children were challenged academically and cared for throughout their educational experience in AISD. This is precisely what I want for all children, especially for our students at Dawson Elementary. Seeing children flourish in the classroom and develop as individual thinkers is what gives me the drive to continue serving in our public schools.
At Dawson Elementary, I have the honor of working with amazing students, parents, teachers and staff. The best part of my job is connecting with people every day and watching our students learn, grow and excel every single day! Together, we work hard to provide the best education and elementary school experience for all of our Dolphins!

¡Saludos familias y estudiantes de la Primaria Dawson!
¡Estoy BIEN ORGULLOSA de ser la directora de la Escuela Primaria Dawson! Nací y crecí en la ciudad de Monterrey en México y es ahí donde empecé mi carrera de maestra en escuelas privadas. Mi carrera como educadora bilingüe se inició hace 29 años en AISD. En este distrito es también donde comencé mi carrera como directora de escuelas hace 10 años. A lo largo de mi trayectoria profesional he tenido la oportunidad de trabajar en diferentes puestos. He sido maestra bilingüe, traductora y creadora de materiales educacionales en español, supervisora administrativa para superintendentes de área, asistente de director y directora de escuelas.
Crucé el programa de maestría y doctorado en la Universidad de Texas en Austin en el área de currículo en instrucción con énfasis en educación bilingüe. ¡Arriba los Longhorns! Tengo dos hijos que asistieron a las escuelas públicas de AISD. Son graduados de la Preparatoria McCallum y tienen muy buenos recuerdos de sus experiencias como estudiantes de esta escuela. Como padres de familia, mi esposo y yo podemos decir sin duda alguna que nuestros hijos tuvieron la oportunidad de crecer académicamente a la vez que alguien se preocupaba por su bienestar. Es esto precisamente lo que deseo para todos los niños, especialmente para nuestros estudiantes en la Primaria Dawson. Ver a los niños florecer en el salón de clases y convertirse en individuos con raciocinio propio es la razón principal por la cual continúo sirviendo en nuestras escuelas públicas.
En la Primaria Dawson, tengo el privilegio de trabajar con estudiantes, padres de familia, maestros y personal maravillosos. ¡La mejor parte de mi trabajo es conectarme con la gente todos los días y ver a nuestros estudiantes aprender, crecer y sobresalir cada día! ¡Juntos, trabajamos arduo para brindar la mejor educación y experiencia educacional para nuestros Delfines!
